The fourth edition of the Hammer IT Conference

The fourth edition of the Hammer IT Conference is being held today in Zenica. The organizer, Zenica-based ZeForge, has gathered a record 13 speakers and 300 participants from nine exhibiting companies in the IT sector at the Multiplex Ekran.

Mirza Sikirić, co-founder of ZEForge and a member of the conference organizing team, believes that “it is very beneficial for Zenica to be the center of IT events in our country for one day. We also have an exhibition section with nine exhibitors with whom visitors can interact. This edition of the conference particularly highlights the importance of the local IT scene and its contribution to the development of the economy of a transitional society and the technology industry. The workshop by Amar Ćerim, a member of Ze Forge, on IT professions for those just entering the world of technology is also significant.”

Dženan Hamzić from Zenica’s Cape Anne Enterprises and a speaker on the topic of artificial intelligence, says that the IT scene in Zenica certainly exists, but it is very quiet.

“I would like us to have more events like this in the future, which are important for networking, for connecting young people with companies, and for companies from Zenica to present themselves to the public. I would ask other companies operating in Sarajevo and Tuzla to open their branches in Zenica to employ as many young people as possible.”

In the field of high technology of this kind, Bosnia and Herzegovina is still developing and trying to create a critical mass of companies and professionals who could drive the sector’s development. Young IT experts are leaving our country, but this is not unique to this field.

“But there are also many, whom I personally know, who return to Zenica and do the same IT job for foreign companies from Zenica, Sarajevo, and other places in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This is essentially a profession that gives you the freedom to work wherever you want and build your career from the comfort of your home.”

This year’s edition of the Hammer IT Conference is supported by the Federal Ministry of Development, Entrepreneurship, and Crafts, further emphasizing the importance of this event.
